Al Jazeera meaning "The Island" is a television channel based in Doha, Qatar. Al Jazeera initially started as an Arabic news and current affairs satellite TV channel with the same name, but has since expanded into a network of several specialty TV channels. The original Al Jazeera channel ready, dissenting views, including on call-in shows, created controversies in Arab Gulf States and the United States broadcast. The original Al Jazeera channel is now available worldwide through various satellite and cable systems.In the United States, it is available by subscription and satellite free to air DVB-S on the Galaxy 25 and Galaxy 23 satellites. Al Jazeera can be viewed free with a DVB-S receivers in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, because there on the Astra and Hot Bird satellites is broadcast. The Optus C1 satellite in Australia carries the channel for free, while in the United Kingdom Al Jazeera English on Freeview, Sky and Freesat platforms.
Al Jazeera English is broadcast on four strategic centers: Doha, Qatar, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, London, England and Washington, DC. In addition, the Al Jazeera network operates more than 70 offices around the world.
Al Jazeera offers its viewers a new and different perspective, it was the first of the Arabic TV channel to the unwritten rule that you do not criticize other Arab regimes, the source of much controversy from the earliest to break.
